Patrick Paige Of THE INTERNET Announces Debut Solo Album ‘Letters Of Irrelevance’

THE INTERNET’s bassist and producer Patrick Paige has today announced his debut solo album Letters Of Irrelevance, set for release on May 18, 2018 via Empire Distribution. Letters Of Irrelevance was written and produced by Patrick Paige and also features THE INTERNET’s frontwoman Syd, as well as Kari Faux, and Forte Bowie and other appearances by Khadi Don, Andris Mattson (of Moonchild), Durnand Bernarr, Paris Strother (of King), Dave Rosser and Nick Green of NickeyDavey, and a previously recorded A capella of Patrick’s mother. Letters Of Irrelevance is an exciting next step for Patrick Paige, the brilliant debut album showcases Patrick Paige’s prowess as not only a bass guitarist, but also a soulful R&B singer, rapper and producer.

FADER premiered the video for first single “On My Mind / Charge It To The Game,” earlier today and noted, “I had to hit pause like 30 seconds in. There’s only so much bawling I can do in public, and “On My Mind,” featuring trademark buttery vocals from Syd, is an unexpected punch to the gut.” They went on to say “Patrick is perhaps better known as The Internet’s wildly talented, perfectly loc’ed bassist/producer, but it turns out he’s pretty damn good at rapping, too.” Watch here

While predominately a bassist and producer, Patrick Paige began writing more after going through a tragic time in his life. Patrick notes,“3 years ago my sister and I lost our mother, I went through a bad breakup, and fell out with a couple of family members all at once. I hit the lowest point in my life, but still had my friends around me (including my band). During that time, I also experienced living on my own for the first time and that made things more difficult at times. During that summer, I had a cat named Yuka and she saved my life. I’ve tried to take from that experience and channel it the best I can and write about all of those moments and thus Letters Of Irrelevance was born.“

Patrick added, “I try to stay as honest and vulnerable as possible through all of my music to help the listener really empathize with my story. I feel it’s important to share my story in hopes I can someday help someone who may also be at their lowest but realize the storm doesn’t last forever, or to help those appreciate who they have around them as much as they can because tomorrow is not promised to any of us. “
