Introducing… Pablo Moriego

I recently checked out ambient composer Pablo Moroego via the Boatport and Soundcloud websites. Straight away this impressive body of work is testament to hundreds of hours of rehearsal/writing/programming time no doubt. Second: His overall sound hits the mark remarkably well regardless of what side of the ocean you live. Moriego has many top tiered attributes required of an effective ambient Dance/Composer in 2018. Third: his amazing songwriting and production prowess deliver a unique signature sound via dialed in frequencies effective on both high and low end speakers.

Many of the songs are a skillful combination of modern Ambient-pop with hints of Chill and Electronic/dance music intertwined. Above all many possess the UK flair that is   a sought after element in music. Music reminded me personally of Andrew Rayel, Alexander Popov, Jorn van Deynhoven, Orjan Nilsen and Marlo. There is also a unique complexity to this catalogue that breaks the mold when compared to other artists within the genera. These latest string of 2018 releases offers a unique writing skillset that seems to be pumping out music like a well-oiled machine. What’s more – there’s nothing fake and superficial about Pablo Moriego. When I listening to songs on “Addiction”, “Throw Back – Four”, and “Lsd” I noticed that not every square inch is filled with musical ambience delivered under duress – but musical space this allows the music to breathe within the sonic space. In addition there are plenty of musical peaks and valleys along the musical journey. All movements just feel natural, never forced. The melodic and beat variety provided is not to be underestimated. Equally as impressive is how marketable many of these 2018 releases are.

The music of Pablo Moriego covers enough ground and despite this manages to not spread itself to thin across to many lines – nice touch. I’ve always said if you can play it at a house party in New York it’s marketable. The music is extremely marketable regardless what country you live in with a fresh sound that is passionate and entertaining. All tracks will genuinely lift your spirits and sooth the body, soul and mind.

My favorite collection of tracks on Beatport are “Lsd” Adecade of Progrezo records pt4, and Electrologic Derivatives vol. 8.  Honorable mentions for individual songs: “Alternative Universe”, “Unbrace feat. Miper”, “Lsd”, “Karma”, “Black Water”, “Traum”, Solaris just to name a few.

Let me go on record by saying the music of Pablo Moreigo has no solid weaknesses worth mentioning (with respect to his writings style). Overall production value professional grade. His latest releases “unbrace” and “Addiction” are endearing limited by nothing. His musical personality and fresh sounding music portfolio gives Electronic music her in the US a well needed shot in the arm.
