Ahead of his long awaited UK dates, ‘Something Wonderful’ follows the French producer’s recent single ‘Lost In Time’ and precedes the release of his forthcoming album All Glows on 13th April.
Displaying Fakear’s penchant for the percussion, the chiming chords of ‘Something Wonderful’ are pierced by Zimmer’s mesmerising vocal delivery, with interjecting bass ripples flowing through the record’s irresistible breakdown.
In the last five years, Fakear has become a leader of France’s electronic music scene. In those years, tracks like ‘La Lune Rousse’, ‘Kids’ or ‘Morning In Japan’ have racked up millions of streams and helped to build Fakear an ever diversifying fanbase. His debut album, 2016’s Animal, was certified gold. That half-decade period has seen him tour around the world, from the United States to Australia, New Zealand, and Europe, which has helped Fakear further establish his reputation as the international flagbearer for France’s new wave of young electronic talents – he even produced a track for M.I.A. on her 2016 album AIM, and has supported Bonobo and label mates ODESZA on their respective tours.
A delicious slice of sensual electronica-pop, ‘Something Wonderful’ is a rich and soothing electro-ballad containing the wondrous vocal talent of Ana Zimmer. The new single marks the start of a new chapter for Fakear, who makes an anticipated return to the UK this month, where he’ll play four dates across the country, including an eagerly-awaited performance at London’s KOKO on 25th April.
