CUT CHEMIST PREMIERES “HOME AWAY FROM HOME”

Cut Chemist (Jurassic 5/Ozomatli) has released his self-directed new video for “Home Away From Home” featuring Laura Darlington – CLICK HERE to watch. Described by Cut Chemist as “a young woman and a beetle who share a bond during what may be the end or beginning of a desolate and beautiful world.” The track is the fourth video from Die Cut, his first solo album since 2006’s critically lauded The Audience’s Listeningfollowing “Work My Mind,” “Madman” and “Metalstorm.”

Both metaphorically and creatively speaking, Die Cut embodies a reawakening for Cut Chemist (Jurassic 5/Ozomatli). The record served as an emotionally-restorative outlet for legendary DJ as he processed the death of his father. The album also thrust him from the shadows of isolation and self-entrapment he encountered following a 30-day stint in jail after a DUI and a string of untimely loses. Desperately in need of companionship, Cut Chemist used Die Cut as a tool to surround himself with a network of live musicians, including Deantoni Parks (The Mars Volta), Biz Markie, actress Erika Christensen (Parenthood), tune-yards, Farmer Dave Scher, Dexter Story, simultaneously creating a community to surround him and reinventing his signature sample-based sound by creating an authentic-to-tape element that flawlessly balances both a new era for Cut Chemist and serves as a natural progression from the The Audience’s Listening.

Cut Chemist is currently on the second leg of his North American tour, which will be followed by a string of European tour dates and an appearance at the 2018 Chalice Festival alongside Bassnectar, Ludacris, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Curren$y.
