Hailing from Surrey and now based in North West London, Georgia Meek beholds the wisdom and life experience of an artist far beyond her young age with an emotion fused alto voice range to suggest the same. Despite being just 23, the sophisticated young singer/songwriter places a firm focus on raising awareness within her music of sensitive issue that affects woman of all ages.
Employing battle-hardened lyrics delivered via an assortment of hard-hitting electronica and alt-pop beats sawGeorgia’s previous single ‘Black Dog’ received much-deserved acclaim following its release. After the track premiered on TMRW and later received support from Spindle Magazine, ‘Black Dog’ was featured on BBC Introducing The South. Aside from Georgia’s airtime debut, the fast emerging talent also performed a mesmerising live lounge rendition of the track for LIVE on BBC South prompting host Melita Dennett to state, “This girl has one hell of a voice”. Georgia’s forthcoming single release, the aptly named ‘Bare’, is a spiralling, rollercoaster-like ride of angst and emotions that comes barreling through a misty-eyed soundscape of orchestral driven melodies as honest, heart-wrenching vocals crash against a crescendo of piano, strings and vehement drum rolls.
On the single itself, Georgia says:
”Bare was a very difficult song for me to put on paper. It touches on a very real, personal experience. I’m sharing it with the hope that it might liberate some other young girls like my retrospective self.”
