Dawes will join Jeff Lynne’s Electric Light Orchestra on their first North American tour in over 30 years. The band will open for ELO in cities including Oakland, Denver, Dallas, as well as two shows at NYC’s Madison Square Garden (full dates below). Said lead singer Taylor Goldsmith about the forthcoming dates: “We’re living out a dream and joining one of our all-time favorite bands on tour in August.” Tickets for these dates are available now and can be purchased here.
Dawes’s latest studio album, We’re All Gonna Die was produced by Grammy nominated producer Blake Mills (Alabama Shakes). Of the album, Taylor Goldsmith explains, “Pretty much every song on this record explores a difficult situation and tries to find a way to find the good in it, or at least remind yourself that it’s not always that big of a deal. After all, as scary as it is, we are all gonna die.” The band also recently released their live album, We’re All Gonna Live, which contains live versions of audience favorites and new originals including ‘When The Tequila Runs Out,” “Roll With The Punches,” “One of Us,” “Things Happen,” and “All Your Favorite Bands.”
Dawes consists of TaylorGoldsmith (guitar, vocals), WylieGelber (bass), GriffinGoldsmith (drums, vocals, percussion) and LeePardini (keyboards, vocals). Dawes has toured extensively playing headline shows worldwide and major festival appearances including Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza and Newport Folk Festival.
