Want To Dress Like BTS? How To Look Like A K-Pop Star For Less

The world is currently obsessed with BTS, the K-Pop group that won over millions of fans all over the globe with their music, insane dance moves, and unique personalities. Meanwhile, fashionistas can’t get over their onstage and off-duty looks as RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have been spotted wearing the latest trends while staying true to their individual styles. K-pop is synonymous with fashion, so if you’re a fan of the genre you can definitely cop the style for a fun and fresh vibe. Though the BTS members have often been seen sporting designer threads, there’s no reason why you can’t get the look of a K-pop star for less. Whether you’re male or female, you can dress like BTS and channel your inner K-pop star by following these affordable styling tips.

Don’t be afraid to go for colour

Right now, BTS is into lots of bright colors as seen in their “DNA” music video. Apart from being colourful, their clothes appear to be flashier yet comfortable at the same time. If you’re mostly into neutrals, now may be the time to spice up your wardrobe with a bright red shirt like the one that Jimin wore in the video or a vivid green jacket a la J-Hope. A dusty mauve sweater similar to the one worn by Jin in the “Burn The Stage” documentary is versatile and can be worn in different ways. It can even work for a professional, business casual look—just pair it with grey trousers and accessorize with a silver watch and Oxfords, and you’re good to go.

Accessories make the outfit

The guys are known for wearing interesting extras to enhance their overall style. From chunky rings, chokers, neckties, bandanas, necklaces, beanies, fedoras, berets, round glasses, earrings, to more risqué choices such as a leather bondage harness over a long-sleeved white shirt—the choices are endless when it comes to BTS accessories. If you’re not quite ready to sport a harness, try wearing round specs to upgrade your look or wear a silver ring or two on each hand. Wear a bandana as a headband a la V in the “Not Today” video for a fun, casual look. Experiment with headgear and see what works best for you.

Go for comfy yet quality footwear

BTS fans, known collectively as Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth or A.R.M.Y., are able to identify each member based on their footwear. Fans know that Jungkook, the youngest in the group, favours his Timberlands, while group leader RM loves classic shoes best. Meanwhile, Suga goes for comfort and will sometimes opt for slippers. The group is Puma’s new global brand ambassadors, so they’re often spotted wearing the athletic line’s sneakers. To channel your inner Bangtan Boy, you can sport their favoured footwear or go for classic shoes and sneakers that go well with everything in your wardrobe.

You can dress like a world-famous K-pop star without breaking the bank. Try these tips to dress like BTS and have a fun, colourful, and unique look this season.
