Platinum certified, multi-award winning and No.1 Australian charting band The Rubens, are returning to the UK next week as part of their ‘Million Man’ headline tour, and have just announced the acts set to join them.
They will be starting things off with a show at London’s Scala on April 4th supported by Dutch singer-songwriter Christof Van Der Ven. The 1,100+ capacity venue is close to sold out with only a final few tickets remaining.
Next, the Australian alt-rockers will hit the stage at Manchester’s Deaf Institute joined by neo-psychedelia outfit URF and finish things off with a show at Glasgow’s King Tuts where local rockers Das Plastixx will open proceedings.
The tour comes after the announcement of their upcoming album, due out June this year. It sees the band embarking on a 26 date, 10-country run, playing further sold out shows in Vancouver, Toronto, New York, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
‘Million Man’ is the first taste of their new record, which has been produced by Run The Jewels producers/collaborators, brothers Wilder Zoby and Little Shalimar (aka Torbitt Schwartz) after they befriended NYC rapper EL-P (Run The Jewels) and the band at the 2013’s Laneway Music festival.
The track has racked up close to 3million streams on Spotify and has been lighting up radio stations across Australia and the US. The accompanying video premiered on Billboard and sets the tone for the rest of the album to follow.
With their album Hoops earning them gold certification and spawning the platinum-selling, No.1 Triple J Hottest 100 charting title-track, The Rubens have been playing sold-out arena shows across their homeland, are hotting up in the US and are set to do the same in the UK.
There will be new music coming from the band very soon along with full details of their eagerly anticipated new album.
