Spooky and mysterious; Down to The River, one of the two tracks exclusive to EP release packs a serious punch. “Safe and sound since I found my hands were holding me down, I let go I let go, down in the river.” This song is about realizing that a lot of the suffering in my life at the time was self-created” Baar Explains, “It reminds me of the Mark Twain quote “There has been much tragedy in my life; at least half of it actually happened.” It was a huge realization to learn how to get out of my own way and stop doubting myself. “

You could say there’s a small darkness that lives in everybody and the music of SPELLES, even at the most innate level, seems to explore those very inner feelings within. Her music has the power to hit like a hard wave washing in upon the rocks, exploring every chasm within, and leaving the listener with its soul out on display.
