ATLANTIC RECORDS RAISES THE CURTAIN ON “MEAN GIRLS” ORIGINAL BROADWAY CAST RECORDING

Atlantic Records has announced the release of “MEAN GIRLS (ORIGINAL BROADWAY CAST RECORDING),” the official companion to the new musical based on the iconic film. The album will be available for digital pre-orders and pre-saves beginning Friday, April 6that digital retailers nationwide; “MEAN GIRLS (ORIGINAL BROADWAY CAST RECORDING)” arrives Friday, May 18th at all DSPs. Physical CD editions of “MEAN GIRLS (ORIGINAL BROADWAY CAST RECORDING)” arrive in stores nationwide on Friday, June 15th.

Now in performances and set to open Sunday, April 8th at Broadway’s August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street), MEAN GIRLS is the new musical featuring a book by nine-time Emmy Award winner Tiny Fey (“30 Rock,” Bossypants), based on her screenplay for the film, music by three-time Emmy Award winner Jeff Richmond (“30 Rock,” “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”) and lyrics by Tony Award nominee Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde). Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw (Aladdin, The Book of Mormon) directs and choreographs. MEAN GIRLS is produced by Lorne Michaels, Stuart Thompson, Sonia Friedman, and Paramount Pictures.

“MEAN GIRLS (ORIGINAL BROADWAY CAST RECORDING)” continues Atlantic Records’ recent string of landmark Original Broadway Cast Recordings, including 2015’s GRAMMY® Award-winning, chart-topping milestone, “HAMILTON (ORIGINAL BROADWAY CAST RECORDING)” and this year’s GRAMMY® Award-winning, “DEAR EVAN HANSEN (ORIGINAL BROADWAY CAST RECORDING).”
