RIPE Announces Toy Drive Benefiting Local Boys & Girls Clubs of America

Boston-based seven-piece Ripe are gearing up to kick off their U.S. headline tour at The Pour House in Charleston, SC this Wednesday March 21. The series of dates will run through the spring, making stops in major cities such as New York City, Atlanta, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles and more, providing fans with achance to dance and collectively revel in the magic of Ripe’s live show. The band has just announced that they will be holding a toy drive at each stop on the tour, collecting donations from their fans at all venues and delivering them to local Boys & Girls Clubs of America in each tour market. Please bring a toy to receive exclusive Ripe music! Full routing can be found below!

“For me, action figures were a huge part of my childhood,” says frontman Robbie Wulfsohn. “The idea of being able to play out whatever stories I wanted, whether imitating the real world or fighting space pirates as a time policemen, gave me a way to start making sense of the world around me. I think that if a little of the love we are trying to spread though our music manifested in giving kids the ability to build those worlds for themselves, I would be overjoyed.”

Ripe recently announced that they will release their independent full-length debut, Joy In The Wild Unknown, on April 6th. CLICK HERE to listen to their latest single “Downward.” Joy In The Wild Unknown was produced by Cory Wong of Vulfpeck, mixed by 5-time GRAMMY-Winner Joe Visciano (Mark Ronson, Adele, Beck, Coldplay), and mastered by Randy Merrill (Lady Gaga, Lorde, Imagine Dragons, Taylor Swift).

Siphoning the spirits of rock, funk, R&B, jazz, and pop through a kaleidoscope of virtuosic improvisation, Ripe are seven musical soulmates who have built a rabid fan base and rapidly growing community of friends and followers with their unique brand of dance music, includingfan favorite “Goon Squad” that’s racked up over 1 million Spotify streams, and a live show filled with unstoppable groove. They are the swagger of funk filtered through a rock anthem, a musical journey that somehow gets as stuck in your head as your favorite pop banger. Ripe finds the elusive sweet spot between jaw-dropping technicality and airtight songcraft on songs like lead single “Little Lighter,” with its simmering bass line and funked-up guitars, and the dynamic, hypnotizing delivery of “Flipside.” With Joy In The Wild Unknown, Ripe collectively kick off a fresh, focused, and fiery next phase.
