PREMIERE: Jameson Burt Releases New Music Video For “Don’t Worry”

Fresh of an iTunes top 40 alternative album and a sold out tour of Europe with Rival Sons, Jameson’s new video for “Don’t Worry” features Italian actress Emanuela Potsacchini (TNT’s ”The Alienist”, music videos by Calvin Harris and Phoenix). The BMG artist explores new territory in this experimental pop track, the video following one night of a young couple living out their separate double lives. It examines the interplay and blur between masculine and feminine roles, ultimately raising the questions: Can we ever know someone else completely? And if not, does love endure?

A Southern California native, Jameson signed with BMG in Berlin in 2014. He was discovered in LA by famed producer Rupert Hine (Tina Turner, The Fixx, Stevie Nicks) who describes his music as ”nothing less than re-invented rock & roll.” A multi-instrumentalist, Jameson has recorded at the landmark Henson Studios in LA, and toured extensively throughout Europe, the UK and the states. His previous single was featured in the Hasbro and Sony Entertainment Transformers soundtrack album. He is currently working on his next full length album which will follow the ”Don’t Worry” single in 2018, accompanied by US and European tours.

In addition, we also get to chat with Jameson to talk about the single, video and more!

Hi Jameson, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

I’m doing very well, thanks! It’s an exiting time for me. Happy to be chatting with you here.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Don’t Worry”?

“Don’t Worry” was released March 1st – music video and single. You can find the video on YouTube or come to my Facebook page: Facebook.com/jamesonmakesmusic

I’d love to know what you all think about it, hope you enjoy.

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

It’s about the hidden parts of each of us and how we deal that mystery. I think it’s impossible to ever know another human being completely, but we still chose to love and accept each other…or we don’t.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

The video is out! It was a long process to develop the concept, shoot it and edit it. More like making a short film. So much time has to be spent on just making sure the simplicity of the story comes across clearly – and that’s much more easily said than done. But I think it will take people on a little journey and have them asking some questions.

How was the recording and writing process?

I wrote it in a hotel room in Tahoe while I was on tour. I recorded it at my studio in Santa Ana with my friend, Andy Carter. The recording process for me is always just about finding sounds that enhance the emotion that’s already present in the song and the voice. We tried a lot of different arrangements, different sounds; more guitar, less guitar, this synth, real drums, programming, etc. In the end we just went, ‘’That’s it. No more.’’ The goal is always just communicating an emotion.

What role does South California play in your music?

It’s my home for most of the year (I also spend time in Europe, especially Italy). It’s where I’m from so the sunshine and dessert vibe and ocean and all that is just in my DNA. I think wherever you work, the landscape you’re in always is a part of the end result.

How’s your new album coming along?

Coming along very well. There are too many songs and too little time right now, but I’m chipping away and the whole thing is finding it’s shape, it’s flavor and scent. So much of the album-making process for me is about trying to figure out what clothes a song wants to wear. And the songs change their minds from day to day, so that’s a lot of the battle. But I’m really proud of the music that’s happening and the themes I’m writing about.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

Release date…not yet. Better to say nothing than tell a lie! As soon as possible. Summer. The title is “Tropics.”

Will you be playing with other styles and layers on this new record? What can fans expect?

I’m playing with so many styles and layers that the principle job right now is honing in on what’s the most “me,” the right “me” for right now. Fans can expect soul, occasional fists in the air, occasional ass shaking, and emotion I hope.

Any plans to hit the road?

Yes absolutely. Shows in Southern California right now, but I have a lot of good people in Europe, the U.K., Scandinavia; I’m dying to get back to them pronto. Stand by, y’all. Miss you.

What else is happening next in Jameson Burt’s world?

I’ve got a couple more music videos on deck to shoot and release very soon that I’m really excited about. I’m finishing writing and recording this record, and collaborating with some offensively talented people on business that cannot be spoken of yet. Enjoy the Don’t Worry video – I’d love to know what you all think. Cheers!
