Martin Garrix, Mura Masa and more new additions to We Are Electric Festival 2018

Today 24 more acts have been added to the line-up of the fourth edition of WE ARE ELECTRIC Weekender. New additions for the electronic crossover music festival include Martin Garrix (exclusive festival performance in The Netherlands), Mura Masa and the full line-up of four brand new stage hosts: Rampage, Heldeep, Netsky and Friends and Future House Music. Previously confirmed acts include exclusive NL performances of The Prodigy and Eric Prydz and headline shows by Justice, Paul Kalkbrenner and Oliver Heldens.

New additions

At just 21 years of age, Martin Garrix has established himself as a behemoth of both the electronic and pop worlds. Claiming the number 1 spot DJ in the world for 2016 and 2017 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJ Poll, just three years on from the release of his breakthrough single ‘Animals’ (2013), he has achieved what many could only have dreamed of in a lifetime. He performs the biggest festivals in the world, from Coachella and Lollapalooza, to Ultra Music Festival and Tomorrowland. Speaking on his exclusive festival performance in The Netherlands, Garrix adds  “I’m super excited to play We Are Electric this summer starring alongside this amazing line-up!”

Over the course of his brisk career, Guernsey-born Mura Masa has developed from bedroom based musician to one of the world’s most exciting electronic acts. The young multi-instrumentalist is taking his future-bass heavy sounds featured on his new debut album, including hit singles ‘Firefly’ and ‘Love$ick’, to the crowds of WE ARE ELECTRIC this summer. His live shows incorporate hard-hitting percussion, meticulously crafted beats, and instrumentation from around the globe while he simultaneously switches between live guitar and keys.

WE ARE ELECTRIC is a crossover festival showcasing a wide spectrum of switched-on artists and live performers with an electronic soul. The fast-growing festival that started with an indoor event in 2013 now hosts indoor and outdoor editions throughout the year. The 2018 Weekender (three days, four large areas) welcomes a wealth of international (live) acts and DJ’s across a variety of genres, showcasing a roster of the most sought after and upcoming artists from all corners of the electronic music spectrum. In addition to the star-studded music line-up, a range of creative performances and activities will also take place across the festival and camping grounds. In 2018 the festival returns to a new and exclusive location on the grounds of the Historic Velder Estate; Velder Woods. The stunning woodlands are situated at the heart of The Netherlands in Boxtel, which is easily accessible from Amsterdam, Belgium and Germany. The new location enables the festival to expand and improve. Expect larger productions, more camping facilities and more importantly; longer opening hours and programming throughout the night.
