Parker Lane is a sound, a conglomerate and a moment in time. Its warm, and relate-able. I’m about love, harmony and realness.
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “3 A.M.”?
“3 A.M.” plays on the Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus ideals, really… we are all different people who can look at the same situation and think a completely different thing.
Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?
The inspiration was sparked by getting a text at “3 A.M.”… It happens to all of us on the West Coast. Primarily because everyone has to shut it down at 2am… So then its the drunken reality check. Haha
Any plans to release a music video for the single?
I have a lyric video, AND a regular video. You can find both of them on Youtube.com. Theyre both pretty fkn creative, if you ask me. 🙂
How was the recording and writing process?
The original spark for the song came out of nowhere. Like… Who writes a song about THIS?? After that, the song pretty much wrote itself. I recorded all these vocals at my home studio. Simple and to the point.. i do have to say that Johnny Gates sang the demo originally, and I thought Id never be able to sound that good. …But I found it in there, somewhere
What was it like to work with Lucy Graves and how did that relationship develop?
Lucy is a breeze to work with… Shes a Kiwi. Just lovely people in general. We write really interesting stuff without even trying. I mean, I write well with other writers, but for this project no one else would’ve been right.
How much did she influence the song?
She influenced the song a great deal because all three of us wrote it
How’s your new EP coming along?
So excited about the new EP!! Its sounding great. There are a couple songs, revamped from the first album, and that’s why I called it “REPLAY”.
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
Release date will be in May.
Any plans to hit the road?
Definitely want to hit the road. I’m trying to get out there and bring the music to the masses.
What else is happening next in Parker Lane’s world?
I mean, I’m doing some things with ROCKIN 1000, Genesis, the U.N., and other stuff. Just out there being creative, trying to change lives for the better.
