DERMOT KENNEDY RELEASES MIKE DEAN REMIX OF SINGLE “MOMENTS PASSED”

Fast-rising Irish artist Dermot Kennedy today releases a remix of his single ‘Moments Passed’, which has received a special treatment from producer Mike Dean (Kanye West, Jay Z, Travis Scott, Desiigner). The critically acclaimed originally has itself had over 6m streams to date, was premiered as Zane Lowe’s ‘World Record’ on Beats 1 and had extensive plays acrossRadio 1 and Radio X. Dean takes the original and maintains Dermot’s hauntingly beautiful melodies on the remix whilst adding his signature production work, bringing to the forefront Dermot’s love for blending hip hop nodes and acoustic music. Dean was left suitably impressed after collaborating with Dermot:

“Always love finding up and coming artists to work with—especially when their sound is a bit different of a lane from what I’m currently working on.  Dermot’s lyric delivery really pops on the original, and in a way with the remix, we created a new version of the song where his vocal really has room to breathe.”

Having been a longtime fan of the Houston producer, Dermot was equally thrilled to work with Dean:

“Working with Mike Dean on this project was such an honor. 808s & Heartbreaks was one of my favorites from him, it was the perfect introduction for me to think about hip hop in a different way and play around with it. I just knew he’d get what I was trying to do with my sound… He put his stamp on the songs and was able to bring forward my love and appreciation for hip hop while keeping to its acoustic roots.”

Dermot is currently on his sold out tour of Europe performing two incredible sold nights at London’s Scala as well as his biggest show yetat The Olympia in Dublin. He will then head to North America for another sold out run kicking off at New York’s Irving Plaza on March 1stwhich sees Dermot play cities across the continent including a debut stint at SXSW. Dermot then heads down under for the first time to play two spot dates in Sydney and Melbourne – both of which are also sold out.
