Dermot Kennedy & Mike Dean Team Up for “Moments Passed” Remix

Fast-rising Irish artist Dermot Kennedy will release a remix of his single “Moments Passed”, which has received a special treatment from producer Mike Dean (Kanye West, Jay Z, Travis Scott, Desiigner). Dean maintains Dermot’s hauntingly beautiful melodies on the remix and adds his signature production work, bringing to the forefront Dermot’s love for blending hip hop nodes and acoustic music. Dean was left suitably impressed after collaborating with Dermot:

“Always love finding up and coming artists to work with—especially when their sound is a bit different of a lane from what I’m currently working on.  Dermot’s lyric delivery really pops on the original, and in a way with the remix, we created a new version of the song where his vocal really has room to breathe.” — Mike Dean

Having been a longtime fan of the Houston producer, Dermot was equally thrilled to work with Dean citing that…

Working with Mike Dean on this project was such an honor. 808s & Heartbreaks was one of my favorites from him, it was the perfect introduction for me to think about hip hop in a different way and play around with it. I just knew he’d get what I was trying to do with my sound… He put his stamp on the songs and was able to bring forward my love and appreciation for hip hop while keeping to its acoustic roots.”

The rising artist is currently on his sold out U.K and Ireland tour and will head to North America for another sold out run kicking off at New York’s Irving Plaza on March 1st. The run sees Dermot play cities across the continent including a debut stint at SXSW. Dermot then heads down under for the first time to play two spot dates in Sydney and Melbourne – both of which are also sold out. For a full listing of tour dates, see below or head to:
