Charles Releases ‘Darker Shade Of Green’

Channeling the feelings of love and jealousy, the 21 year-old produces a classy blend of soul and R&B, fusing a grooved-out rhythm section with his trademark bass driven vocals – a combination that continues to draw comparisons from Isaac Hayes to Dev Hynes.

Speaking on the track Charles states “Being in love is a beautiful thing, but people forget to tell you what the actual T is. It’s hard fucking work, graft and jealousy loves to creep in at any opportunity. I struggled with that emotion [jealousy] because I never expected it from love. It took me completely by surprise and it’s still something that I’m trying to keep under control.” Listen here
