GBA Games on Your PC, Tablet, and Smartphone

Do you remember those funny console games from 90’s and 2000’s? Which of them was your favorite one? Pokemon? Legend of Zelda? Or maybe Super Mario? If you have ever played at least one of the GBA games, you know what a real gaming is. Gameboy Advance was an incredibly powerful gaming tool of that time. It was a desired present for a lot of children. And the games were great too, even if their graphics and the quality are nothing comparing to modern computer games. Still, a lot of people would like to play those old-school console games even now.

The great news is that it is not a problem in 2018. You may not know, but you can start playing your favorite GBA games whenever you want if you have the Internet connection and a mobile device or a laptop/PC. All you have to do is to download a few files and run them on one of those devices you have. That’s all. You don’t need to surf the Internet trying to buy the console itself. An emulator and a ROM are fully enough. And it won’t take more than a couple of minutes to upload them to your device. As there are a lot of specialized sources to get those files from. For example, you can easily get gba emulators on romsmania.com as well as any ROMs you used to play when you were a child.

So, let’s find out how to do it step-by-step and what particular games you can download for this emulator.

GBA Emulator Download Guide

So, there are a few tips you should stick to when downloading the emulator.

  • Check the operating system requirements. In the description to the emulator, you can find information which of the OS it is suitable for. For example, Android, Windows, Mac, etc.

  • Check the user rating. Always read feedback from other users about a concrete emulator. Does it lag? Doesn’t it slow on the older computer models?

  • Find appropriate GBA roms download Each emulator has a specific set of ROMS suitable for it. The same way is with the GBA emulators. For example, for Gameboy Advance console, you can download Pokemon Jupiter, Grand Theft Auto Advance, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Naruto – Ninja Council 2, Metal Slug Advance, Dragon Ball Z – Supersonic Warriors, Classic NES, Baseball Advance, Ace Lightning, Pokemon Emerald Version, etc. There are hundreds of available GBA ROM files on the Internet to choose from.

So, when you have both ROMs and emulator downloaded to your device, you can skip to the installation process. Open the folder and click on the setup file. It will extract all the downloaded items. Now, you need to take all the extracted files and place them in a new folder. Go ahead and open up a GBA emulator by double clicking on it. You can keep it small or may have it as a full-screen window. To run the game, go to «Open» and choose one of the games you’ve placed in that new GBA folder. In a minute, the game should start uploading.

The installation of GBA and ROMs are pretty similar for both computers and smartphones. The only difference is that for a smartphone you need to download the emulator in a form of an app. And only then, you can download simple ROM files from the Internet.

So, if you want to remember what playing real 90’s games are, go to the Internet and get one emulator for your device too. Go back to the old-school gaming experience from your childhood.

  1. There are a lot more steps to make this work than most other Android emulators for PC. On the plus side, though, it works with any operating system that can run an instance of Chrome (Mac OS, Linux, Windows, etc). We linked to the official GitHub where you can find detailed instructions on its use.
