London singer and songwriter Azu Yeché returns with jubilant and uplifting new single ‘Farmhouseʼ. Listen here
Produced by Fred Cox (Rag n Bone Man, Samm Henshaw, Martin Luke Brown) and set to a folk pop backdrop, Azu sings with ease and emotion as he details parts of his childhood.
Azu recalls ‘I moved city when I was ten years old due to a ghastly attack endured by my brother and as a result I only saw my childhood this way. Recently, I thought of life before the incident and it was amazing to see the joy and love that preceded it. It was also eye opening as an adult, to truly understand the sacrifices my mother made. I wanted to reflect all of that in the song and performanceʼ
Azu leaps in and out of his falsetto with his gentle and distinctive voice, expressing the joy and pain of the story.
With traces of folk, pop and soul combined with an infectious gospel handclap beat, Azu delivers a melodic, poignant and joyous single that strongly suggests a great 2018 ahead.
