INTERVIEW: Chuck Starr

Hi Chuck, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

I am doing very well. I just released my first single Fire it up. It’s beginning to really create some movement, and it’s exciting to see the results.

Can you talk to us more about your song “Fire It Up”?

Yes Fire it Up is my first single. It is an R&B/Pop song. It is very a song that was created for everyone. All ages. Its has the 90’s classic hit song feel with the modernization of the drum track, using a trap drum pattern and an 808 bass for the trunk. Fire it up gives the listener a great experience, whether you are chillin at home, or in their ride.

Did any event inspire you to write this song?

Yes it did. I had a girl that I was really into, and realized how much she meant to me, and I wanted to write a song to her letting her know that I realized that.

Any plans to release a video for the track?

The video for Fire it Up was released on VEVO

How was the recording and writing process?

The recording and writing process was awesome. Once My team and I began the process. We knew we were onto something special. We were very detailed with the process of recording the song. We wanted to capture a record that is timeless. A record that is for everyone. The recording process was special because I worked with a producer from Augusta Georgia. We worked hard basically communicating on the phone, and through email getting the record to where we wanted it to be.  The lyrics of the song was written to show love and not lust. The lyrics were written to show the listener that we can get over problems in a relationship, and that there is that one person out there that you can’t shake feelings for no matter how hard you try. That person just Fire’s you Up.

What role does Columbus play in your writing?

Columbus Ohio, is where I am from, that is my hometown, so it plays a huge part in my writing because Columbus molded who I am as a person.

Having travelled around the world – how has that experience influence you as an artist?

I have traveled. I am a professional Singer/Entertainer for Carnival Cruise Lines which has afforded me the opportunity to travel to some amazing places and perform. I am looking forward to doing much more traveling and experiencing many more wonderful places while I perform, inspire and share my music with the world

Does the new single mean we can expect a new album – how’s that coming along?

The new single means you can expect to hear much more from Chuck Starr. I am a performer/entertainer. The stage is where I will be able to show my full personality and fully connect with the crowd. The new single Fire it Up,  has given me the chance to perform for the world. We do have new music to be released at a future date and we are also working on an album.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

Haha. I was always told not to give too much too soon, so make sure to visit my website at www.chuckstarrmusic.com and sign up for the mailing list, and you will receive information as to what is next and where I will be

Any plans to hit the road?

Hitting the road is definitely the plan, that is what is big about the opportunity with this interview. It gives me more exposure to get on tour with Maroon 5 or Bruno Mars etc. The late nights show with Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Coburn. I am very serious about performing.

What else is happening next in Chuck Starr´s world?

My world is amazing I am traveling, I am seeing my dreams come alive. I am inspiring people to become better people, and I am becoming a better person and learning more about myself. I can use what I am learning and reflect it into my music.
