I’ve been great and thank you so much for having me. I took a little bit of time off from releasing music but I am back and very excited with the release of A Dangerous Woman.
Can you talk to us more about your song “A Dangerous Woman”?
“A Dangerous Woman” is written and produced by me and recorded, mixed and mastered at Blue Dream Studios in Los Angeles. The song itself is about a woman who is confident and strong and that makes her dangerous to the opposite sex. She realizes that she met her match because the man pursuing her isn’t afraid.
Did any event inspire you to write this song?
Well, my biggest muse is my boyfriend. When we first started dating I was the one that made the first move so I kind of based the song off of that experience.
How was the filming process and experience behind the video?
The video was actually filmed in my neighborhood. I was walking and saw a really cute mural with different women painted so I just had to shoot in front of it. The other location we just happen to stumble upon a vacant construction lot.
How was the recording and writing process?
I actually wrote the song a year and half ago while on the ship. I used logic to create all of the sounds and then hired musicians to bring it to life. I used the same musicians from my last EP titled “You Could”.
What role does LA play in your writing?
LA is such a crazy and inspiring city. There is always something to do and always new experiences to create. It inspires me in many ways from the artists I work with to the experiences whether it be love or just trying to find my way through life.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?
Absolutely!! I’ve been busy trying to create some new material. It’s coming along well but I definitely want to take my time with this project.
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
I don’t have a release in mind yet. I want to record an album so I know that will take awhile. I’m looking to start recording in April.
Any plans to hit the road?
Yes and yes!! I’ve been doing a few shows in LA but I’m trying to venture out more. I’m heading up to Sacramento later this year to do a couple shows. Looking forward to expanding that into a full West Coast tour.
What else is happening next in Sydney Ranee´s world?
I just got a new place and I’m loving it. I’m also working on and writing some other projects for a few artists. I’m excited to share these as well.
