Hi Jazz, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Hey! I’m good thanks, super excited to have just released my new single Together In Electric Dreams and I’ve also discovered the series Inside No.9 on Netflix… So it’s been a pretty great week all round haha.

Can you talk to us more about your song “Electric Dreams”?

Together In Electric Dreams was released last Friday (26th Jan) and is the first single on brand new label Humble Angel Records. I’m really pleased with the love it’s getting so far from my fans. For me there’s nothing that makes me happier than releasing a song that means a great deal to me, and hearing that others are also really connecting with it.

Did any event inspire you to write this song?

For me the lyrics of TIED are all about somebody really touching your life, and a part them always being with you in everything you do. When I sing TIED, it reminds me how lucky I am, not only to have such amazing friends, family & fans, but also how much of a positive affect certain people have had on my life that I’ve barely known two years. People really can just come into your life and completely turn it around. When I’m touring and can’t be with the ones I love, singing TIED reminds me that they’re always there in spirit.

Any plans to release a video for the track?

I think just a lyric video for this one J

How was the recording and writing process?

It was so much fun. I absolutely love being in the studio. Over the past few months, I feel lucky enough to have found a really talented team that totally get my vision and can transform my ideas into something unique and special. I think when you’re writing and recording, it’s so important to really feel at ease with those around you, so you feel confident enough to experiment and really push yourself. For me, Together In Electric Dreams is so representative of me as an artist; it reflects the way I feel and the sounds that I love making/hearing.

What role does London play in your music?

I love living in London. To some extent, I think our surroundings influence everything we do, so naturally have an influence on my music whether or not this is a conscious decision.

For example, last year I went on holiday to Turkey and it was the first time I’d been away in soo long. Whilst I was there, I was inspired me to write/record my single The Love Of You, which is all about taking time out for yourself, and really letting go,. The rest of my tracks have been written and recorded in Soho Studios, London. I think there’s big difference in the vibes of The Love Of You and Together In Electric Dreams haha! Many have commented on TIED having a very ‘London’ sound. I quite like that.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new album – how’s that coming along?

Aha! I’d absolutely love to record my debut album, but for now I’m working on a colour-themed series of singles which promote diversity, equality and the importance of self-care/looking after your mental health. These topics are so important to me and I feel like a lot of people are talking about them right now, which is a great thing. Each single in my series relates to a topic within this theme and also has an associated colour attached. I’m having lots of fun with this, and you can check my insta to see it in full swing –

Together In Electric Dreams is purple themed and is all about acknowledging the amazing people in your life and how much of a positive effect they’ve had on you.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

I’ve just got out of the studio from writing my next single in the series and I can’t wait to share it. It’s about standing together for a better future. As for a release date and title, you’ll just have to wait for those 😉

Any plans to hit the road?

I’ve been in the studio for sooo long and I absolutely can’t wait to hit the road. I adore writing but for me, there’s no better feeling than connecting with my fans live on stage. Last year I did a School Tour to talk about equality, diversity & self-care and I’d love to do more of this. I think it’s so important that people from a young age understand that their mental health is just as important as their physical health and to treat everybody equally. You never know what’s really going on in somebody’s else’s life, and what you do/say can have such a huge effect, whether that’s positive or negative.

As for touring and concerts, I think my team are currently talks about support gigs and festivals… Once confirmed, these will all be announced on my website

What else is happening next in Jazz Mino´s world?

You know I was talking about this with a close friend the other day, and I realized I don’t actually do much apart from my music. Most people my age are going out, partying etc whereas whilst I like to do that occasionally, I’d much rather spend my weekend with a glass of red wine writing a new song.

If I’m not song writing, my weekends are spent glued my 3DS playing Ultra Sun, or eating curry & watching Netflix. If you’re diggin my music, you should worry about the days when Pokemon comes out on the Switch as it’s gonna take over my life haha.
