Ponette Releases New Music Video For “Gun”

Ponette is an electronic pop band from Oslo, and their latest single “Gun” will be released January 26th on their own recently founded label Necropop. Previous work includes their the single “Freak” from 2017, the debut EP ​I’m Alone​ from 2016 and collaboration with New York based producer Black Coast, “Medicine” (2017). The dark and energetic soundscape is dominated by fresh pop vocals, noisy guitars, glitchy synths and driving electronic drums. Shortly after its release, “Freak” was featured in the official Spotify playlist “Fresh Finds” with more than half a million followers worldwide, as well as being used in several Norwegian tv series.

The band performed successful concerts in 2017 as part of the main festival line-up of the international music industry festival By:Larm, as well as the Øya Festival and the Norwegian Wood Festival club line-up. Shortly after the EP release in 2016 they were named “band of the week” by NRK P3 Urørt, and was praised by the iconic electronic duo Röyksopp. The By:Larm showcases got great reviews in several Norwegian music magazines, with writers using characteristics like “dancy shoegaze” to describe the music.
