Singer/songwriter Rozzi has released a stunning live in studio performance of “Uphill Battle” today. The “captivating one-take video,” described by Billboard, was filmed in Capitol Recording Studios and showcases Rozzi’s powerful and raw vocal talent – check it out HERE. “Uphill Battle,” is the first song in a succession of releases that will lead to her first full-length album later this year on Small Giant/Columbia Records.
“We’re all complicated and complex in different ways and we all do and say things that challenge our partners. It’s easy to feel disappointed or frustrated with yourself after an argument & for me that often led to feeling like I was too much, like an uphill battle,” Rozzi explains. “This song is saying, I know I’m am a lot to handle, but I’m okay with it, it’s who I am and it’s who we all are. I wanted the live video filmed as a single shot to keep the focus on the song and to take the lyrics and the story front and center.”
At just 19 years old, Rozzi made her name known by being discovered by Adam Levine. Soon after she was touring the country with Maroon 5 and honing her craft on-stage. After parting ways with Levine in 2016, Rozzi began her own personal quest of self-discovery. It was at this moment that Rozzi realized that she had been so focused on success that she forgot to truly live her life. So, Rozzi started living. Most notably she fell in love for the first time and had her heart broken. She felt things she had never felt before, she found herself, and then she wrote about it.
