INTERVIEW: Atlanta Based Rapper King Laylow

Hi King, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

What’s up VENTS. I’ve been great thanks for asking.

Can you talk to us more about your song “Comme Des Garcon”?

Well to start off I named the song after my favorite clothing line.

Did any event inspire you to write this song?

I was inspired to make the song because I was in Bahrain at Saks Fifth and I bought a lot of Comme Des Garcon clothes.

Any plans to release a video for the track?

Actually I’ll be shooting the video to the song some time this week.

How was the recording and writing process?

The recording was great I went to Undercaste in Shoreline, WA shoutout to my engineer Lincoln. As for the writing part I wrote it while I was traveling through the streets of Bahrain.

What role does Atlanta play in your writing?

Atlanta plays a big role in my music from my word play and the culture with in my music how it’s distinct from all the other genres of music I’m surrounded by in the West Coast.

How’s your new EP coming along?

Putting the finishing touches on it and getting all my masters back next month.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

I don’t have an official release date yet but the name of the EP will be Lost Files.

Any plans to hit the road?

One day I’ll be hitting the road but right now is not the best time for me.

What else is happening next in King Laylow´s world?

Hmm the next thing I plan on doing is dropping a sequel to DP Laflex and the rest you’ll just have to find out I got a lot of great things in store for all my fans.
