Coming hot off the heels of tour dates opening for ‘90s alt-rockers LUNA (including a sold-out show at LA’s Moroccan Lounge) as well as the release of their most popular single “NAMETAG” (200K streams on Spotify), “THE GREAT HEIST” is a blistering indictment of the Trump administration’s first year in office.
“We are really affected by today’s political climate and by what appears to be a fleecing of the American people,” says singer and guitarist Richard Jankovich. “We wanted to write about what future generations would think when they would look back at this.” He added, “Now, with this government shutdown it even seems more urgent!”
BIG MOTHER GIG holed up in the studio at the end of 2017 and laid down 4 new singles for release throughout 2018. The songs were recorded by Dan Long at Headwest (Local Natives, Spiral Stairs), mastered by the legendary KRAMER (Galaxie 500, Urge Overkill) and will be released on the band’s own Sweet Sweet Records.
