Yonder Mountain String Band Celebrates 2000th Show, Announce Spring Tour

YONDER MOUNTAIN STRING BAND-acclaimed for their epic live shows and virtuosic musicianship-have announced a run of spring dates for March and April. Kicking off in Salt Lake City, the 19-show run takes them up and down the West Coast, wrapping in Santa Fe, NM. The band are currently on an intense winter run which brings them to Nashville this Sunday and eventually to Colorado for two nights at the Winter Wonder Grass festival.

This past weekend, the progressive, Colorado-based bluegrass band reached an historic milestone: they performed their 2000th show. They marked the occasion in Asheville, NC and are excited to keep being able to make music for a living with a growing legion of fans.

YMSB-Adam Aijala, Dave Johnston, Ben Kaufmann, Jacob Joliff and Allie Krall-formed in 1998 and have released 11 studio and live albums since, including three #1 Bluegrass Albums chart-toppers.  Rolling Stone said Love. Ain’t Love is “an album rooted in modern bluegrass and punctuated by genre-jumping excursions into world music, reggae and all points in between” and premiered the video for the album’s first single, “Bad Taste,” here.  Talking about the song “Take A Chance On Me,” Taste Of Country said, “Funky’ is just about the last word you’d expect to use to describe bluegrass, but Yonder manage to incorporate a funky groove with a sweet pop vocal hook and sunny vocal harmonies that would be right at home on mainstream pop radio for a track that is delightfully unexpected.”
