INTERVIEW: Ornimental

Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Fricken Awesome, Appreciate it!

Can you talk to us more about your new single “Love Thy Enemy”?

Danny – It’s actually a cool story for me. I had paid for train tickets for my friend in Pennsylvania and we always would hang at her hotel room to build plush anime characters. While we were building a present for someone, I heard this riff out of nowhere and I was just jamming on it. She asked “What song is in your head?” and I told her that I can hear a super jumpy verse and its killing me! So I went home, and finished the entire song in one night including the vocals for the choir.

Did any event inspire you to write this song?

Danny Perry –  Actually, Besides the main hook coming from nowhere, The lyrics do pertain to one person that I loved and betrayed me. I was ready to go to war with her, but decided that my faith in love was more important than wasting hate. The song is my letter to her telling her that I forgave her, and that its not too late for her to change her ways. You feel the rage with the instruments, but listen to the lyrics and hear the contrast.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

We actually have a lyric video we’ve been promoting right now. You will be seeing this a lot more through the coming weeks. Here is our link to the video –

How was the recording and writing process?

Danny Perry – After our big year in 2014 opeing up for pretty huge bands, we decided that we need to record the album we wanted to make by ourselves. At first, It was impossible to get everything started. Love Thy Enemy is actually the first song we recorded for the record and it took forever to find the vibe and mix we wanted. After we had everything done our way, its been smooth sailing since then. We expect to finish everything very, very soon!

What role does Ft. Lauderdale play in your writing?

The scene here can be anywhere and Ft Lauderdale has good venues but in general we perform out because we love it.

How has Pink Floyd and Van Halen influenced your music?

Danny Perry – Van Halen is one of the core influences in this band. Pink Floyd  that epic band that shows us how to write an incredible song you know? We have so many bands from all genres, complicated to simple, and even foreign. Everything has a reason to our music.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new album – how’s that coming along?

Danny Perry – Absolutely, We’re making a very different kind of concept album. You can expect the album to come out very soon with a release date coming soon as well!

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

We don’t have a date yet, but the album has  got a great name, which kind of sums up where your musical journey will be going in this album. With the right support, We can play a show near you!

What else is happening next in Ornimental´s world?

Danny Perry – Ornimental the breakfast cereal! Actually, Just where we need to be man. We’re not stopping until we play Madison Square Garden, and even then were just going to want more and more! Expect more of what we are about.
