INTERVIEW: Light The Sky

Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Great, excited about the release.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Mothership”? 

Yeah, its the first of a new body of work that it´s like the beginning of a new chapter musically speaking. Did any event, in particular, inspire you to write this song? Yeah, the emotional feelings, creating something mixing organic and electronic, I think as a newer sound.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

I think a lyric one.

How was the recording and writing process?

I usually write on guitars or keys and basically looking for melodies that excite me and makes you feel something. To me, the melody is the essential part of a track. When was writing this track at the studio with Eriel playing just the acoustic version of it with guitars and vocals and when we found the right melody for it. I  knew the song would be special

What was it like to work with Eriel Indigo and how did that relationship develop?

It was awesome she is super talented and an amazing writer. We wrote another song “Tougher,” which is coming out soon.

Would you call this a departure from your previous musical projects?

Yeah, definitely. I was writing instrumental music with Lucent Dossier but this project is much More focused on songs instead of tracks. I  want something that connects people in a different way, more musically.

Does your new single mean we can expect a new album? How’s that coming along?

Yes, I will be releasing a new EP this year.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

Yes, but I can’t tell you yet.

Any plans to hit the road?

Yeah definitely, shows coming up in both LA and SF soon.

What else is happening next in Light The Sky‘s world?

The next release will come out around in two months. I’m really excited to put out all the new music and play shows.
