Hi R, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
Hi VENTS, doing great, thanks. How ’bout yourself!?
Can you talk to us more about your new single “Heart Motion”?
Sure! “Heart Motion” is a very personal song. A breakup song–but where many are told from the singer’s perspective, this is a song that sympathizes with the other party. It’s a tune that’s very near and dear and I think people will really feel that when they hear it.
Did any event inspire you to write this song?
All of my music is taken from my life experiences. So, yes. I’d prefer not to talk about the experience of this particular song, but rather allow the story to speak for itself. My music is meant to create a space where the listener can interpret and decide how the song speaks to them.
Any plans to release a video for the single?
Yes, watch for that!
How was the recording and writing process?
Writing is something that’s never fully finished in my opinion. At some point, you just have to say this is “what” and “who” I am in this moment and claim it!
Do you tend to take a different approach when you are collaborating with someone else than when you are working in your own?
No, I’m always me no matter who I’m with 🙂 I know what I want to hear and continue searching and working until I find it.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new album – how’s your new album coming along?
A new album is already written. I just need to get in the studio to track things. As we speak, I’m looking for my dream producer. Anyone have Rick Rubin’s number??
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
The release date is for the Universe to decide. I do have a title, but can’t share at this time. All I can say is: I’m very excited about it!
Any plans to hit the road?
I’m in the midst of rehearsals now and will begin playing LA shows January / February 2018.
What else is happening next in Rabyt’s world?
I’m looking to create a technological and immersive live experience. Something that transports audiences to another planet for a while 🙂
