Emerging hip-hop artist Nico Lit chats with Vents Magazine about his forthcoming single, "Give It 2 You" which is set to release on Friday, January 19th.

Can you talk to us more about your new single “Give It 2 You”?

-Yes, give it 2 you will be my 2nd official single that’ll be released through Spotify.

Did any event inspire you to write this song?

-No specific event inspired me to write this song, if anything it was through multiple experiences hanging out, partying and having a good time that helped me write the song.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

-Yes, there is a really good chance in the near future for a music video.

How was the recording and writing process?

-This was the smoothest song that I’ve ever wrote and recorded, I’ve never felt that comfortable with previous songs.

What role does Detroit play in your writing?

-Detroit does have a little bit influence in my writing as its a very competitive area for rappers and the delivery with their lyrics. I always tried to tweak my lyrics to be a step higher or not be too plain, I also worked on my vocals to help boost my punchlines or my lyrics.

How your personal background has influences your music?

-Coming from Detroit, I grew up on Motown and artists like biggie and Tupac. I think it helped me when it came to pronouncing my lyrics and having alot of energy in my vocals.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new album – how’s that coming along?

-I am in the process of getting together a project, it’ll more than likely be an EP before I do an album and I wouldn’t expect anything like than until later in 2018.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

-I am definitely unsure about a date, but I am very positive that the title of my next project will be called, “The Waves”.

Any plans to hit the road?

-No plans at all to hit the road, I’m very excited to do that later in my career though.

What else is happening next in Nico Lit’s world?

-I can’t really say, just trying to focus on getting my music to be heard and having longevity with my career. I wanna put my all into this so I feel like I can’t put alot of energy into other areas.
