Fatboy Slim is going head to head with Australia on his upcoming release: a remix EP aptly named ‘Fatboy Slim vs Australia’ and today reveals his first face off with one of Australia’s finest electronic acts The Kite String Tangle, taking on the 1999 #1 hit ‘Praise You’.
Fresh off releasing his debut, ARIA-nominated album, Danny Harley aka The Kite String Tangle brings his electronic prowess to the table on this mix; taking on the bones of the track and adding his own beats and samples. The sonic architect’s intricate beat-making build to the anthemic hook, propelling the track into a realm of its own. The results are a dance driven, punchy remix, refreshing the #1 dance hit for a new generation of listeners.
Danny acknowledges “Fatboy Slim is an untouchable artist and ‘Praise You’ is one of his seminal works. I really can’t imagine the current music landscape without this artist or this song and so to get to put my own touch on it was a humbling experience.”
Alongside TKST, other artists to feature on the release include 2017 ARIA award winninghard rock band Northlane who have covered a Fatboy classic, Set Mo, The Aston Shuffle, Sam La More (a member of 2017 ARIA award winner act PNAU), Carmada andLO’99, each tackling hits like ‘Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat’, ‘Weapon of Choice’ and ‘Right Here, Right Now’ from the Grammy Award winning artist.
Reg Mombassa, of Mental As Anything and Mambo fame, has created a uniquely Aussie album art to accompany the release.
Fatboy Slim reveals“I’m totally down for vs Australia, sounds like a dual and a whole lot of fun if ever I heard it ….let the people decide when I come to play in January…dance bitch”
With the 20-year anniversary of critically acclaimed album ‘You’ve Come A Long Way, Baby’ coming in 2018, this re-work of his most popular hits comes at the perfect time, giving Fatboy Slim fans new and old a chance to enjoy the tracks that made him a household name.
