Four lifelong friends from Northern California who first met in kindergarten, and grew up obsessed with the sounds of The Doors, Black Sabbath, David Bowie, and Prince. They shuffled in and out of local groups throughout middle and high school, and then made the decision to trade their small Sacramento suburb for Hollywood, forming Vista Kicks in late 2014. Living together in a cramped one-bedroom apartment, Vista Kicks is—Derek Thomas [vocals, keyboards], Sam Plecker [guitar, vocals], Trevor Sutton [bass], and Nolan Le Vine [drums.]
On their debut Booty Shakers Ball, they deliver a perfect mixture of rock ‘n’ roll vigor with a funk flair and a throwback vibe, creating a new musical cocktail that goes down smooth.
Since 2014, they have released 3 singles followed by 2016’s self-produced 6-song collection titled Chasing Waves, leading up to Booty Shakers Ball. The EP, along with the previous 3 singles, has amassed over 6 million Spotify streams and over 3.2 million YouTube plays, and the numbers continue to grow. Booty Shakers Ball was produced by the band and funded through touring, merchandise sales and a successful preorder campaign through PledgeMusic.
