HDNET MOVIES Presents the Network Premiere of ‘Truth’ in December plus Blocks Dedicated to Bruce Willis, Goldie Hawn & More

HDNET MOVIES delivers a sleigh-full of acclaimed dramas, box office favorites, Western epics, and more this December, headlined by the network premiere of the 2015 Dan Rather biopic TRUTH on Sunday, December 3 at 6:50pE accompanied by the legendary newsman himself, who will be on-hand to present the film. The film stars Oscar® winners Robert Redford as Rather, and Cate Blanchett as former CBS News head Mary Mapes, and tells the story of the pair’s decision to air a controversial 60 MINUTES segment seeking to expose President George W. Bush’s war record in the days before the 2004 presidential election. The film is based on Mapes’ 2006 memoir, and also stars Topher Grace, Dennis Quaid, and Elisabeth Moss.

Also in December, the network puts the spotlight on one of cinema’s best-loved leading men in the Better With Bruce Willis block on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 7:25pE. The four-film event kicks off with Willis in EXTRACTION. Then, Willis and Billy Bob Thornton star in the 2001 crime comedy BANDITS; followed by Willis in HUDSON HAWK, with James Coburn and VICE, with Thomas Jane.

Saddle up with Western icon James Garner for a night of Old West comedies in the SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL Double on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 7:25pE. The day begins with Garner as a rambunctious gamblin’ man who pretends to be a world famous gunslinger in the 1971 hit SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL GUNFIGHTER. Then, Garner is back in action as a drifter whose sharp-shooting skills keep a small town safe from ne’er-do-wells in SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SHERIFF!, with Bruce Dern.

Plus, HDNET MOVIES celebrates comedy iconGoldie Hawn with The A-List lineup highlighting five of her early films on Sunday, Dec. 17 starting at 7:05pE. The block opens with Hawn in OVERBOARD with Kurt Russell; then alongside Chevy Chase in SEEMS LIKE OLD TIMES; followed by Hawn and Warren Beatty in the 1975 satire SHAMPOO, featuring the debut of Carrie Fisher. Next, Hawn makes her Oscar®-winning big screen debut in the 1969 comedy CACTUS FLOWER, with Walter Matthau, and the block wraps up with Hawn in BUTTERFLIES ARE FREE.
