INTERVIEW: Stepdadfla

Hi Stepdad, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Hey! I’ve been well, so excited to release this track!

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Pineapples”?

“Pineapples” is the first song I created with my new producer Vence. Big shout out to him.

Did any event, in particular, inspire you to write this song?

Most of my music is inspired by life events. Simple enough I was hanging out with a girl and she brought a fruit bowl into bed. She fed me pineapples while on a Percocet and the rest is history.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

If riff is down to shoot a video then it’s happening for sure.

How was the recording and writing process?

I had the song written to another beat and I loved it. I was introduced to Vence and he swore he could improve some parts he thought were lacking. The dude is a genius and brought back a final edit of the song 10x better than the first. He is executively producing my next EP now.

What was it like to work with Riff Raff and what did he bring to the table?

Working with Riff was like opening a variety pack of starbursts and them all being pink. Enlightening.

Of all rappers out there, why did you choose to work with him?

Riff Raff is a living legend. The track just had a feel to it that I only saw him being able to compliment. He recognized the vibe and ran with it.

Does your new single mean we can expect a new album – how’s that coming along?

I  have a new EP on the way. I’ve been cultivating a new sound for myself with this project and in my opinion it’s the best music I’ve made so far.

Any tentative release date or title in mind? Any plans to hit the road?

I want to release Early 2018 and it will be titled “Thriving in Hell.”  No plans to tour but I’m always playing show around Florida so keep an eye out.

What else is happening next in Stepdadfla’s world?

Playing Trap Circus in Miami on November 22nd and with Yung Bans in Orlando December 22nd. 2018 we go global. Stepdad way!
