Today, Sydney alt-pop favorites, Tigertown, proudly release their new Warriors EP via Neon Gold / Atlantic Records HERE. The EP is highlighted by “Mysterious” which features LPX, the solo moniker of MS MR frontwoman and Neon Gold Records co-founderLizzy Plapinger. In both title and sound, “Warriors” and “Come My Way” (premiered via Billboard HERE) are Tigertown’s most auspicious offerings yet – a sign of their unrelenting momentum toward an even brighter future.
During this milestone year, Tigertown introduced themselves to audiences in USA, Europe and Australia, touring with Tove Lo, Troye Sivan, Panic! At The Disco, Verite and their latest tour alongside Great Good Fine Ok. They also remixed Tove Lo’s “Vibes”HERE, BØRNS’s “American Money” HERE and Troye Sivan’s “Wild” HERE.
The title track “Warriors” arrived ahead of the band’s sold out run supporting Tove Lo in Australia, which they capped off by releasing a sweltering official remix of Tove’s “Vibes”HERE. A song about the divide between fantasy and reality, “Warriors” carries on themes of love and introspection which lie behind much of Tigertown’s lyricism. It explores the internal monologue of two people who experience an idealised love in their dreams, which they can never quite transfer into the actuality of everyday life.
And Chris Collins explains “Come My Way”: “We wrote “Come My Way” last year in Nicaragua with our friend James Flannigan. It’s about helping someone through a time of depression. We make ourselves so emotional vulnerable these days, which can be great but it means, now more than ever, we need to be looking out for each other always.”
The Warriors EP carries on from the euphoric highs of Tigertown’s debut Lonely Cities EP in 2015 and it’s wildfire single of the same name (10 million streams and counting), and the release of 2016’s Papernote EP, which saw the title track remixed by BØRNSx Tommy English and The Knocks. The past 12 months has also seen them crystallize their unique anthemic sound on the stage, touring the world with the likes of Tove Lo,Troye Sivan, St. Lucia, Panic! At The Disco and MS MR, and releasing official remixes for BØRNS, Grouplove and Crystal Fighters.
