James will also release a re-issue of Tribute To on December 8, his George Harrison covers EP from 2009, with a new album cover and the bonus track “If Not For You” by Bob Dylan. Pre-order both HERE.
“‘I Just Wasn’t Made for These Times’ is a song that has spoken to me very deeply from the first time I heard it,” says Jim James. “So often, many of us just feel like we don’t fit in, like somehow we were dropped into the wrong life at the wrong time. This song has such a beautiful way of resonating with that energy and relating to the pain of life on earth, but also offering hope and comfort in the beautiful sounds of togetherness.”
Drummer Patrick Hallahan and Craig Pfunder of VHS or Beta have come together to producePetty Fest, a sold-out tribute event to take place on November 22 in Louisville, Kentucky. Bassist Tom Blankenship, Jim James and other artists are confirmed to participate and more info can be found HERE.
“Craig Pfunder and I decided, at the end of a very emotional day, to do something positive with what we were feeling,” Hallahan explained. “‘Into The Great Wide Open’ is what came of that moment, and has become a way for the two of us, along with some of our closest friends, to send our love and gratitude to Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers.”
