Rosko are back with the new track‘Snifter’, taken from their upcoming EP due out this October. The 4-track project is a tongue in cheek insight into the boys’ lifestyle, with animated lyrics full of attitude set over striking guitar riffs.
The new single recounts a true story where the boys were left to escape the flat of some shady characters and their shady substances. The music video, shot by Victor Kovachev (Big Narstie, Blessed), takes inspiration from classic Kung-Fu flicks, with Rosko literally showing new sides to their characters to bring the track to life.
The boys’ uniquely British sound is inspired by everything from Britpop and Punk, to Grime and Hip Hop, with lead-singer Bruce originally starting out making beats inspired by The Alchemist and Madlib. With Oasis, The Clash, Mike Skinner and Ghetts cited as influences, their music effortlessly glides through the broad tastes and experiences of a modern 90’s kid.
Their first release ‘The Boys’ took you on a journey from Southend-on-Sea’s seafront arcades to the local boozers, accompanied by a high energy video from Taz Tron Delix (who has since directed for Declan McKenna and Novelist).
The band officially came together in a local Wetherspoons just over a year ago, after a phone-call from Bruce whilst in Benidorm. Rosko consists of lead vocalist Bruce, Lithuanian-born-and-raised model slash guitarist Simon/Simonas, bassist Perry, and drummer Snakes (aka Dean).
Simon and Bruce were first seen together in the Murkage Dave x Mike Skinner – ‘Tied To You’ music video onNoisey last year, whilst Simon has also modelled in prominent fashion campaigns for Ben Sherman, Tom Ford, Stella McCartney and Alex Mullins.
Rosko’s 4 track EP ‘White Stilettos’ was self-released on October 20th.
