Dublin-based artist singer, writer, producer and emerging phenomenon EDEN will release his debut album, ‘vertigo‘, on January 19th, 2018, on Astralwerks/ Virgin EMI. Fans can pre-order it now at http://iameden.eu/.

The 21-year-old musician, otherwise known as Jonathon Ng, also releases the first single from the album, ‘gold‘ today  – listen HERE. EDEN will hit the road on his ‘vertigo’ world tour to support the release, which heads to the UK and Europe in April next year (all UK and European dates below).

Tickets go on sale Friday, November 17th 10am local time at http://iameden.eu/. Fans who pre-order the album exclusively will also be granted early-access to purchase tickets for the tour.

On his 2016 breakthrough EP ‘i think you think too much of me’, EDEN struck a rare balance of ingenuity and intuition with its guitar-heavy take on emotive, swirling electronic pop. On ‘vertigo’, he takes an even more instinct-driven approach to his music, a process he perceives as a form of exploration.

“Even when I’m writing, I don’t feel like I’m actually creating anything,” he says. “It’s more like I’m uncovering something that’s already there. Like how an archaeologist doesn’t create a fossil — they’re just finding it and uncovering it, and maybe rearranging it if it’s broken. Releasing this body of work is terrifying and exciting and overwhelming for me. A lot of it is so personal. This album is not a coming-of-age story, but it caused one.”

The lead single from that EP ‘sex’ was picked up by none other than the cult superstar Lorde who wrote on his FB wall how much she was moved by it. Meanwhile, Consequence of Sound would hail it a “Vulnerable synth-tinted pop track that’s about so much more than what’s happening between the sheets.” Pigeons & Planes called second single, ‘drugs’ “Another strong showing from this emerging talent.” The four main tracks on ‘i think you think too much of me’ have gone on to rack up over 50M streams on Spotify with the EP hitting #1 on iTunes Alternative Charts, and #2 on Billboard’s Heatseeker chart.

New single ‘gold’ comes on the heels of EDEN’s recent release, ‘start//end’ – itself on more than 1.6M plays on Spotify since its release in September. A jack-of-all-trades who writes, plays, and produces all of his music and plays multiple instruments onstage, Ng would also direct, film, and edit the ‘start//end’ video himself – shot in London, Tokyo, Seoul, LA, New York and his hometown of Dublin.

From the bedroom of his childhood home, Ng cultivated a large online following and his EP debut with End Credits in August 2015 amassed an astonishing 120M viral streams. Following his breakthrough 2016 EP, EDEN’s debut London date at Dingwalls sold out immediately and he spent the summer performing at Reading and Leeds festivals amongst other heavyweight events across the globe.
