Watch for Horses Release New Single “San Junipero”

Watch for Horses fuses radiant melodies, surprising progressions and warm laid-back vocals. Taking inspiration from the likes of The Smiths and Young The Giant, the band have concocted a playful indie rock sound, flavored with So-Cal pop.

Watch for Horses is an American indie rock band from Norwalk, California, formed in 2011. The band consists of Joshua Borja, Julian Chavez, Bryant Genuino and Ralph Tafoya. United, the musical ensemble seeks to use their sound as a way of expressing what words cannot. “Music lends itself to every emotion. Every feeling. Every instinct. Music can bring you back to a time or place. It has such a profound effect on the human mind” confides Tafoya.

After the success of their previous EP The Evil Kid, which was added to rotation on LA’s World Famous KROQ and won them a place at the Vans Warped Tour, Watch for Horses are back with their highly anticipated upcoming release “San Junipero” and it’s set to be another success. Sonically, “San Junipero” is full of energy, with a sweeping catchy chorus and vocals that sparkle amidst the dynamic rhythmic section. The single emanates the band’s ideology to create something ultimately fun, layered with a variety of textures while still maintaining organic and unpretentious style.

“San Junipero” found inspiration from an episode of the popular series “Black Mirror”. Based around the love story that happens between two people who are inherently different, the music is inspired by the dynamic of this unforeseen relationship. “The most intriguing part is that this all takes place in this alternative to heaven, called San Junipero” reveals Tafoya. Produced by Joshua Brooks and Jon O’Brien (Young The Giant) and Francois Comtois, “San Junipero” is due for release Fall 2017.
