After supporting Paul Weller and Primal Scream in Spain this summer – as well as a bunch of festival dates, Barcelona’s Holy Bouncer bring their brand of sun kissed Psych Rock to the worlds ears with their new single ‘Mightly Mad’ and accompanying visuals. Watch here
Produced by Alberto Pérez, ‘Mightly Mad’ sees the 5-piece move away from a classic 60’s sound to embrace a more contemporary approach in the studio, whilst retaining the charm of their song writing and psychedelic sensibilities. The single marks the start of a series of releases which will culminate in their second EP early next year, and after such a frenetic year on the road (with more than 60 shows through Europe and China under their belt) the guys were keen to capture the energy of their live set in these new recordings.
“Sometimes when we are found facing ourselves, we don’t really see exactly what we expected, but instead what we fear the most. Once the door to the subconscious is open monsters can get in, maybe we are just ‘mightly mad’”
“In this video we wanted to represent a trip towards the subconscious. For Tomas and I, the character metaphorically faces himself in solitude, where the deepest, darkest and most hidden thoughts surface. Sometimes they take the shape of something very unexpected. For us, the house represents the protagonists subconscious, the more he stays inside the more he is enveloped by something he can’t really see, but it’s there in his own thoughts.”
Have recently collaborated with brands like VANS and Quiksilver, their previous tracks have also won the band supporters across national radio in Spain as well as other media outlets further afield such as MTV, BBC Radio 3 and Cosmopolitan.
Holy Bouncer bring their vibes to the UK in January 2018 as part huge European Tour which also sees shows across the continent, starting in Spain and then on to Portugal, France, Italy, UK, Belgium, Netherlands and Switzerland. Also look out for a series of singles, music videos and a full EP in 2018
