Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

We’ve been doing well just busy, not just with the band but in our personal lives as well.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Invidia”?

Invidia was written for one of my friends who was going though a huge rough patch in his life.

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

So the inspiration for the song came from one of my friends lives rather than my own. He’s had a hard couple of years and aside from dealing with that he’s had others putting him down because of aspects in his life he had no control over. I really wanted to put myself in his shoes and write something that he couldn’t put into word about how he was feeling about everything.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

Currently we do not have and plans for a music video for the single but if our fans want it we will make it happen.

The single comes off your new album No Character: No Crown – what’s the story behind the title?

The story behind “No Character : No Crown” was mostly personal struggles that I went through at some point in my life that kept eating away at my head and I couldn’t take it anymore. But the overall message behind the record is that no matter what life throws you way, you can’t take your eyes off of what you want in your life.

How was the recording and writing process?

Both processes were pretty fast paced. The overall writing process was done in about a two-month timespan, and then the recording process was a little over a week.

What aspect of old and new metalcore sounds did you get to explore on this record?

As far as instrumental work, most of it was inspired by work from Fit For A King, Architects, and Forevermore. Vocals we inspired by bands such as Wage War and Issues. All of this and we still added our flare to things.

What role does Maryland plays in your writing?

Honestly Maryland doesn’t really play a role in our writing.

Where did you find the inspiration for the songs and lyrics?

Inspirations for the songs and lyrics mostly went off of what I was feeling. So with most of the lyrics being dark we wanted the instrumentals to match.

Any plans to hit the road?

Always. We’ll be doing a weekend run in November then another in December.
