Only a few months have passed since ORIION released debut single Live Another Lie – a bold statement that emphasised the artist’s flair for strong melodies, memorable hooks and crisp production. He delivers more of the same quality on the new sophomore effort Fast Lane Hearts, a track characterised by powerful boom-bap drums, twinkling keyboards and a sharp modern sound that contribute towards his signature ‘nostalgia pop’ sound. The track begins with wind-like effects and cut-up vocal samples before its strong percussion andORIION’s pitch perfect vocals take over the musical landscape. As it continues layers of synthesizers and vocal harmonies are subtly added to create a solid wall of charming production qualities. The hooks are aplenty on the song, so much so that it’s hard to tell when a chorus begins and ends, resulting in an unforgettable four and a half minutes of sleek musicality.

On the subject of the song, ORIION comments:

“Fast Lane Hearts talks about the unsatisfying craving towards somebody.  Living in a fugacious world, a universe of fast lane hearts, distraction, endless options we long for that one and only feeling, two hearts becoming one, becoming time and space.“

ORIION is a name to look out for in the final months of 2017; with an EP on the way which should be out very soon, he is also working with Irish/Swedish producer Lindahl in preparation for a forthcoming debut album.

Fast Lane Hearts will be self-released on 20th October, and will be available via Spotify, Apple Music and other streaming platforms.
