Naaz Releases New quirk-pop single ‘Up To Something’

19 year-old pop rebel Naaz releases ‘Up To Something’, proving once again that everything she puts her mind to is the absolute definition of fresh & inspiring. She’s also been announced to play The Great Escape’s First Fifty & Eurosonic. Watch here

‘’This song is my soundtrack for hope & freedom, and makes me feel capable of anything” explains Naaz, continuing “Back in highschool I used to spend my time alone during the breaks so I could write songs and just be. I did the same at home, but nobody understood, and when questioned why I’d just say “I’m just up to something””

The depth in Up To Something is that it speaks loud & clear with its confident lyrical delivery and irresistible hook lines. Its bold, colourful video finish things off perfectly as a song that’s a celebration of that hope she mentions above. The lyrics in particular chronicle a small blip to Naaz’s music making, where she speaks directly to her family and initial concerns of her starting out a career in music, instead of something they deemed more stable on lines “Don’t want to hurt them but this is who I am / chasing ambitions making my own mistakes.”

Despite only releasing two songs to date, ’Can’t and ‘Words’, Naaz has won over praise from a large cross section of tastemaker press online, resulting in 6.5 million plays on Spotify alone, and more importantly it’s started getting her cause across, and that has led to a growing fanbase feeling inspired.. Earmark her as a One to Watch in 2018.
