Emerging pop act Hannah Faye has just premiered her new single “Darker,” featured in the highly-anticipated Lionsgate motion picture WONDER, on TigerBeat.com. The film’s soundtrack will be released via Milan Records on November 20th. Fans can listen to the track here.
“The influence to write ‘Darker’ was when I was upset about something and needed some hope,” says Hannah. “I think that the book and the movie contain some good life lessons and teachpeople of many different ages to be nicer to each other.”
WONDER director Stephen Chbosky recognized Hannah’s talent immediately: “Hannah was part of the cast of WONDER and mentioned one day that she also wrote music, so I asked to hear something. She gave me the song ‘Darker.’ It took me all of two seconds to realize that Hannah was a 12-year old prodigy.”
Based on the New York Times bestseller by R.J. Palacio, WONDER tells the inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman (Jacob Tremblay). Born with facial differences that, up until now, have prevented him from going to a mainstream school, Auggie becomes the most unlikely of heroes when he enters the local fifth grade.
As his family, his new classmates, and the larger community all struggle to find their compassion and acceptance, Auggie’s extraordinary journey will unite them all and prove you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.
The film version of “Darker” was produced by veteran executive music producer and music supervisor Matt Sullivan. Sullivan’s credits include Beauty and the Beast, Footloose, Dreamgirls, Rent, Rock of Ages and Hairspray.
Hannah recorded the soundtrack version with versatile music producer/composer RuwangaSamath, who will also be producing her anticipated debut EP. Samath has worked with artists such as Meghan Trainor and Kesha, and created songs for major films like Ted and Fast & Furious 6. He recently co-scored and Executive Music Produced the well received Netflix film “# Reality High.”
Hannah’s passion for singing began at the age of six, and she began writing her own music by the age of eight. In addition to singing and writing lyrics that showcase a talent beyond her years, Hannah is a multi-talented musician who plays the piano, ukulele, and drums.
