Acclaimed Nottingham singer Saint Raymond has announced his new EP A Light That Blinds, due for release through Never Fade Records on November 17th.
To mark the announcement Saint Raymond has released his brand new single ‘Nightcrawling’. The song is the first taste of new music following the release of his highly praised 2015 debut album Young Blood.
‘Nightcrawling’ is a seductive slice of indie pop, with its creeping basslines and funky guitars destined to soundtrack reflective late-night journeys, while the huge choruses, which deliver effortless earworm “ooooohs”, are the stuff that dreams are made of.
Regarding the single Saint Raymond says, “I really enjoyed writing ‘Nightcrawling’. During the writing process I was aiming for something that was a bit heavier than what I usually do, and driven by the bass. Lyrically I was inspired by a friend who was going back to see their ex after a night out drinking and the song came together quickly in a day.”
Saint Raymond first came to prominence with his debut EP Escapade in 2013, which reached the Top 3 in the iTunes chart, along with his two 2014 EPs, Young Blood andGhosts.
His debut album Young Blood reached the UK Top 10 upon release in 2015. It achieved great praise from the broadsheets and indie tastemakers, while also receiving strong support from Radio 1. Zane Lowe was a big fan of Saint Raymond at the station, featuring him as his ‘Hottest Record In The World’ and inviting him to perform a Maida Vale session.
Saint Raymond’s feel-good indie anthems have also captivated arenas, where he supported Ed Sheeran throughout the UK and Europe in 2014. He’s also played with the likes of HAIM and Jake Bugg on major tours throughout the country.
Now he returns with ‘Nightcrawling’ and is set to capture hearts once again with his bright new music.
