It has been quite the year for Canada’s own, county-rock musician, Russell Lee. After releasing his widely popular single for “Picture”, a song that dealt with the passing of time, the relationships we build, and the importance of the photos we take. Surpassing six-hundred thousand views for the music video, playing the main stage at the world-renowned Dauphin Countryfest, and receiving six nominations for the 2017 Manitoba Country Music Awards, it is no surprise that he has released a new song capable of reaching even further horizons.

The song I am talking about is Russell Lee’s latest inspirational creation titled “Meant To Be”.

Meant to Be is a natural progression from what Russell has offered up in the past, and many listeners have shown appreciation for the bold step.

Picture was an emotional and slower track in nature, whereas Meant To Be picks up the pace by a faster beat, layered vocals, and just more of professional attention to detail that we have come to expect from Russell Lee.

When speaking with Russell Lee, it became clear that this was a very important song to him, as it is a testament to his own personal resolve and faith in the hope that love can bring. That is something that listeners have come to expect and appreciate from Russell, this authentic desire to create songs from the heart that inevitably reach through to the listener.

Regarded as a strong songwriter and live performer, Russell Lee makes sure that the stories he weaves into every song is a story that can be shared by many, and for many, this has been a successful mission on his side.

Meant To Be is currently a single meant to stand on it’s own, with a lyric video for those that want to dig in deeper visually, but hopefully we can expect to see more out of Russell Lee moving forward, because like me, his fans are interested in the new direction he is taking.

Russell Lee can be found on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and his official website.
