Like That is warm, fresh and heartbreaking. “I was thinking about how, when you’re in a relationship, your love evolves and changes over time,” explains Carmody. “I guess Like That is about wanting to remain infatuated, to still be completely absorbed by the person regardless of time and life’s distractions.”
Carmody has once again raised the bar with Like That, releasing a smooth yet somehow also heartbreaking work of art. It’s a catchy ballad. It’s cool, but it hurts. Carmody’s voice is perfectly framed by the minimal electronic production that doesn’t waste a beat, and you’re left in awe of the level of precision achieved in such a heart-wrenching release.
Carmody is the artist every aspiring songwriter aims to be. She has remained independent, shaped her own musical world and managed to clock up over 19 million plays on Spotify alone. After her incredible sell-out London headline show at Omeara in May, she will be returning with brand new music and her trademark killer live show at the Bussey Building in Peckham on 22nd November.
