Canadian singer-songwriter Leah Harris is set to release her newest single Don’t Blame Me, a bluesy, soulful pop track with individual style that brings a new level of intimacy to pop music.
Hailing from a musical family, Leah was exposed to music from a young age allowing her to find her passion early on in life and begin to develop the style and flare that she embodies now. Beginning songwriting in her youth, Leah was supported by her parents and had the opportunity to record demos encouraging her to continue with her efforts. When reflecting on her musical experiences, Leah recalls how “songwriting was my way of making sense of myself and what was happening in the world around me … music was the most natural way for me to connect to people.”
Her newest single Don’t Blame Me was inspired by some modern day soul greats such as Amy Winehouse, Jamie Cullum and Alicia Keys. Growing up on the border of Detroit, Leah’s influences of soul, motown, gospel and R&B can be heard throughout this track, particularly her main influence of Ray Charles. Don’t Blame Me features some honest and soulful lyrics, bursting with attitude about the dark sides of love.
As the first single release from her new album set to be released in April 2018, Don’t Blame Me gives an idea of what to expect from Leah Harris and the direction her music has taken. Leah is currently based in Dublin and is preparing for the release of her single on 15th October 2017 with a string of live shows, information about where you can catch her can be found on her social pages or her official website.
