Multinational gypsy punks The Penny Black Remedy return next month with their long-awaited third album.

Following hot on the heels of 2013’s Inhale… Exhale… OK, Now You Can Panic!, the band nucleus knew they had to return with something special, and so recruited longtime Morrissey guitarist and musical director Boz Boorer to co-produce.

Maintaining Dignity In Awkward Situations was recorded at Boz’s studio in Portugal and in Dubrovnik, Croatia, where the band’s nucleus of Keith M Thomson and Marijana Hajdarhodzic are now based.

Joining Keith (Scotland) and Marijana (Croatia) on the recording are Jeremy Mendonca (USA), Basia Bartz (Poland) and Londoners Jamie Shaw and former UK Subs bassist Paul Slack. The album also features guest appearances from Dave Ruffy and Segs Jennings of The Ruts and Peter Radcliffe from The Penguin Café Orchestra. Together they’ve created the most accomplished TPBR recording yet, tempering the band’s infectious Balkanised ska blueprint with undertones of classic Nashville country music.

Preceeded by the single ‘I’d Murder To Have You Back’, the album is set for release on Friday 24 November on their own mono del mundo label via Cadiz. It’s available to pre-order now at

The band play a special launch show on the day of the album’s release at The Islington, Tolpuddle Street, London N1. Tickets priced £10 are on sale now at
